Design is one of Julie’s lifelong passions and practices. She’s always been designing for herself (personal homes as well as business/commercial spaces), or for friends and family.

With deep roots in L.A. but heart in the Bay, Julie recently took on a career shift and midlife move from Southern to Northern California. Before founding Julie Buckner Design, her professional background was in political campaigns and public policy marketing and communications. She's an entrepreneur, business owner, project manager, community builder, and team leader. She’s a lifelong student of yoga, a yoga teacher, and owned a Los Angeles studio where she directed a respected teacher training program.

Creatively free from design convention, she works intuitively and authentically, always growing and learning about design, architecture, visual arts, dance, language, fashion, food, and farming. Rather than cultivating a particular style, selling a product line, or being an influencer; she’s dedicated to serving clients’ needs and lifestyles.

Julie’s developed a niche in the design business: she plays the role of an owner's representative – supporting, advocating and coaching clients through their design/build projects. She’s remodeled houses, built ground up construction, and restored old properties herself. She’s bought and sold homes, many times over.  Julie brings perspective and real life experience to every client and each job.

Hailing from the hills of Sonoma County, Hannah’s been enthralled by beauty all of her life. A lover of art, music, fashion, and travel, she’s forever dedicated to expanding her lexicon. Upon receiving her degree from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in San Francisco, she went on to work as a fashion stylist, graphic artist, and social media marketing coordinator.

After soul-searching abroad, Hannah naturally found herself in interior design. Willing to go above and beyond to get it right, she’s devoted to cultivating meaningful relationships and executing elevated designs. Constantly seeking inspiration for her next project, she’s driven to build her career and make her unique mark on the design community.

At JBD, Hannah is appreciated for her ability to manage multiple responsibilities, both creative and administrative, with boots on the ground, a sweet voice, and warm, open smile.
